Fito’s Endless Abyss of Knowledge

If it’s worth talking about, it’s here.

Bow Down To Your New Masters!

It’s been almost twenty years since Metallica’s masterpiece “Master Of Puppets” was released and I think it’s safe to say that since the days of Metallica, Pantera and Slayer, metal just hasn’t been the same. Until now. Nu-metal bands like Korn are on the way out and true metal is poised to make another huge breakthrough. At the forefront of this movement is the unbelievably talented band Trivium. Not since the early days of Metallica has a metal band had this much talent and I’m not being desperate here, they are just that good. There first major label album, “Ascendency” has been touted by boatloads of critics as one of the best metal albums of all time…yeah, right up there with Metallica, Ozzy, Slayer, Pantera and everyone else. “Ascendency” has even started to rack in some album of the year awards from some pretty respected magazines like Kerrang and Total Guitar has named them Band of they Year. What’s even more amazing is their age. The oldest member of the band is 23 and Matt Heafy, their lead singer/guitarest is 19! Any music fan, needs to go get this album and listen to it over and over again because nothing else coming out of today’s metal scene, with the exception of Children Of Bodom, even comes close. Mark my words right here metal fans. A new age is coming and headbanging will rule the world once again.

  1. Yeah, I have to agree with Matt here. Trivium is my favorite band right now. As good as Ascendency is, the first album, Ember to Inferno, is almost as good, if not just as good.

Children of Bodom have also done some pretty good things in the metal world. Their newest album, Are You Dead Yet?, is really hitting me hard. Follow the Reaper is a great album from 2000.

Those are my two favorite metal bands, hell, favorite bands period right now. Definitely check them out, and then sit down, open up darklyrics.com, and listen to the amazing language they use.
